Back in December 2020, Samsung launched the One UI 3.0 along with the eleventh Android OS (Android 11). Eventually, the company started releasing One UI 3.0 firmware updates globally. As of today, every device has received this update. Later in January, Samsung brought an upgraded version One UI 3.1 with the new Galaxy S21 series. This update was a big hit especially for the mid-range devices. Moreover, the Korean giant has confirmed to release One UI 3.5 in August.
According to the latest Samsung software update policy, every flagship phone will get 3 major OS updates. That means, the smartphones released with One UI 3.1.1 are confirmed to experience the upcoming Galaxy One UI 4.0 update. Since One UI 4.0 is significantly based on Android 12, it will not support some of the older Galaxy handsets. Whereas, for some phones One UI 4.0 will be the last major update. The company is currently testing the update on new devices. In February, the Tech Giant released the first Android 12 developer preview. Moreover, the second preview was announced in March with some major bug fixes. At Google I/O 2021, the first Android 12 beta program was publicly released. As soon as it was launched, Google Pixel 3 series as well as various third-party devices (except Samsung) tried the Android 12 beta version. Furthermore, Android 12 Beta 2 and Beta 3 was released in 9th June and 14th July respectively.
